Squawker Road Classic

Multiple Locations

Hey road racing fans, the Squawker Road Classic is back for 2024 with the same great TT/TTT and downtown neighborhood criterium and a brand new very challenging road course just east of Durango.

$20 – $40

Church of the High Pines

Home Depot South Lot 1301 S Camino Del Rio, Durango, CO, United States

During the winter months when there is frequent snow and cold temps the ride does not go. Once the temps warm up a bit and the shoulder is free of snow and debris the ride will go. If you feel like others may show up then they probably will. Pedal Durango will try to keep tabs on when it is consistently going again, keep an eye on the events page and instagram.

Bread 42 County Rd 250, Durango, CO, United States

Haviland Lake – CR250, Old Shalona, HWY550 to Haviland (regroup), return HWY550/CR203.
C ride is a group ride similar to the Sunday Church of the High Pines ride where the focus is riding, being efficient and safe in the group but maybe with a touch more pace and can get spicey in the last ¼. This group may also be a good entry point for folks looking to get in group rides but are intimidated because of lack of comfort drafting and not knowing group etiquette, hopefully more experienced riders can help them. The ride will also do a full regroup at the top of each major climb.

Note Location and Time Change - Bread at 10am!
No Drop (at least for the first 3/4)
This group ride has been a Sunday standard for years where the goal is socialize with friends and meet new ones that usually gets a little spicy near the end. It is a fairly easy spin if you have a bit of fitness and know how to ride in a group. Local pros use it as a recovery spin to chat with community folks or before heading out on longer rides. For everyone else it is mostly social.
