It all started as a group of local cycling professionals around 35 years ago to throw down with riders like Ned Overend, Julie Furtado, John Tomac, Ruthie Mathes, etc and is now dominated by a new generation of pro riders like Todd Wells, Natalie Quinn, Sepp Kuss, Sarah Sturm, Quinn Simmons, Savilia Blunk, Riley Amos, Michaela Thompson, Payson McElveen, Ava Hachmann, Howard Grotts and a slew of FLC Cycling riders but Ned still shows up to put many in their place.
There is also a B Worlds for riders who like to push hard in a road group setting but at a lesser pace than the A ride, but still very strenuous and group riding experience is a must. The B ride meets in a different location than the A ride. Maybe a C ride coming soon?
The rides begin each year when the time changes in the spring and end with the fall time change. For the majority of the summer the rides begin at 5:30pm but for early and late season, 5pm start times are adopted. The rides change weekly and start from various points around town based on the direction the rides are headed. Check out the Pedal Durango Events page for exact times and locations.
