During the winter months when there is frequent snow and cold temps the ride does not go. Once the temps warm up a bit and the shoulder is free of snow and debris the ride will go. If you feel like others may show up then they probably will. Pedal Durango will try to keep tabs on when it is consistently going again, keep an eye on the events page and instagram.
No Drop (at least for the first 3/4)
This group ride has been a Sunday standard for years where the goal is socialize with friends and meet new ones that usually gets a little spicy near the end. It is a fairly easy spin if you have a bit of fitness and know how to ride in a group. Local pros use it as a recovery spin to chat with community folks or before heading out on longer rides. For everyone else it is mostly social.
The daylight savings time ride (Spring/Summer/Fall) starts from Bread and heads north out the Animas Valley on CR250 and includes the grueling Old Shalona Hill where a regroup happens and then returns to Bread. Meet times vary with the season so be sure to check out the Pedal Durango Events page for specifics.
The standard time ride (Winter) starts from the Home Depot parking lot on the south edge of Durango and follows CR213 down to Bondad via CR213 (La Posta Rd) and regroups at the intersection with HWY550 before returning to town. There is a pretty standard 11am start time for this ride during the winter but can double check the PD Events page to be sure.
